Bird Bath

I can't always write about you
but here lately your eyes dance
within words, making my fingers
display my love for your beautiful
soul.

I hear the fluid rattle as you speak-

The drowning takes your breath away
and I sink with you my child.

You say to be strong
and I try to hold onto you,
but its hard knowing; deep in my soul

that one day I have to let you go.
