When Love Finds You

by Walter   Jul 13, 2019

They met in times
When both felt low
Still learning how
To let love go

Each one with
Their painful past
Accepting that
Love doesn't last

And at first
They both walked by
Neither looking
To even try

And replace the ones
Who they still love
The last thing that
They're thinking of

Somehow fate
Played its hand
Gave both a glimpse
Of something grand

Now when passing
Each would smile
A feeling that
Made life worthwhile

For the first time
They looked ahead
Instead of back
To what was dead

And both of them
Would start to slow
As more emotions
Began to show

Now attraction
Stopped their walk
And face to face
They'd start to talk

It wasn't long
Till both realized
That what they had
Was something prized

Friends at first
That they'd become
And each day shared
Was so welcomed

Soon they saw
Both hearts agreed
That love was what
They really need

Of whom I speak
My wife and I
The love we share
I can't deny

And to this day
I tell her so
My love for her
Will always grow

What a beautiful piece.. I loved this romantic well rhymed tale of love. Two broken hearts coming together to find something worth so much more. May you both be happy together for eternity. Milly x
