Empty Clouds

Wake up every day feeling like I'm cursed,
every single second it just gets worse,
I don't know why I have to feel this hurt,
can't wait 'til the day I ride in that hearse,
trying to alleviate with this verse,
push the pain away but it won't disperse,

I'm hanging onto,
empty clouds,
not raining but I,
think I'll drown,
I've fallen but I,
can't get down,
keep callin' but can't,
make a sound,

We're always at war, but you don't fight fair,
can't sleep anymore, life's just a nightmare,
how am I alone, you were just right there,
dying on my own, but you just don't care,
with eyes full of tears, I'm trapped in despair,
wasted all these years, still going nowhere,

    I like the repetition of “keep callin’ but can’t make a sound... actually, that part sounds smooth. The first and third stanza have lines that seem force. Other than that, I enjoyed the poem. It’s like a song. Thanks for sharing.

      Thanks! I wrote part of it a while ago, then came back and tacked on the rest later...so part of it was a little less smooth.
