NO RED DAWN TONIGHT

by KAZ ISHMAEL   Jul 20, 2019

I've been walking for two days
Trying to reach a town
Outlaws steal my horse
And I've been hunting them down

The sun is very hot
And my throat is dry
If I don’t reach a town soon
In the desert, I am going to die

There is a light in the distance
So I know I am near
Walk into the saloon
And I saw them standing there

One reaches for his gun
so I shot him dead
he fell to the ground
And from his stomach, he bled

The other two made a run for it
and turn down a table to hide
The piano stopped playing
And every one run outside

With rage in my eyes
Two guns in my hands
They raise the devil
the day they mess with this man

Fire my Winchester
and he lets out a yell
No red dawn for him tonight
Today He’s going to hell

The last one runs to the street
Town folks all out of sight
Pull my gun lighting fast
and He was dead tonight

so I got on my horse
and ride out of town
and the undertaker takes them
to bury six feet underground

Now I hang up my guns
Got to turn my life around
Find a beautiful girl
And marry and settle down

with a nice little house
and white fence over there
and a big gallery
With two rocking chairs
