What is Beauty?

by Michael D Nalley   Jul 12, 2004

Do you think beauty is just what is pleasing to you?
Can a blind man see any beauty when he is blue?
Does he see all of the beauty pleasing the eye?
Will he seek the darkness, or look towards the sky?

What are the words spoken most pleasing to the ear?
Sometimes beauty says I love you, but do we hear?
If beauty were eternity would it look back?
Or forgive us for the beauty that we all lack?

If we were not beautiful, whom would we have to blame?
Would we expose ourselves or would we hide our shame?
There was no shame in paradise when creation was fresh?
But through the darkness we created we must hide our flesh?

Is the beauty of creation complete? Is the Creator done?
Will we work with him until we unite with the Son?
