Dancer on the Corner

by Larry Chamberlin   Aug 21, 2019

She is at the bus stop
very large and very pretty
in sweats and slippers
looking like she’d just
walked out of yoga class
corn row braids streaming.

Headphones overrule reality
as she bumps and grinds
to her own beat in ecstatic
slow motion frenzy oblivious
of her fellow passengers
whose awaiting their bus
brought entertainment
unexpected yet appreciated.

Love this little snippet of life, seeing someone dance their heart out, to their own rhythm and just live in the moment. I was at a stoplight the other day and the guy in front of me started jamming in his car. I couldn't help but smile.

This made me smile too :)
