Silence Isn't An Answer

by Walter   Sep 24, 2019

I know there is nothing left
Stayed together and tried our best
The years we shared are in the past
While both trying to make this last

You and I we know so well
But still needed time to tell
Denying what we now know
That time has come to let this go

Our body language speaks the truth
And pretending is no use
We'll keep searching and never find
True love that has been left behind

Wake up on either sides of bed
Though backs are only what is shared
Neither of us will turn around
And silence is the only sound

Do you know what I miss the most?
Living now with just a ghost
I really miss the way you smile
When times we shared were worth our while

Random yearning to embrace
While we were standing face to face
Even with nothing to say at all
Your facial expressions I'd adore

But silence now the enemy
Is what's become of you and me
If only we knew the words to say
Our love would not have runaway

Although I think that we both know
Neither of us really want to go
It all comes down to what is heard
When silence is the only word

Ouch Walter. This is so relatable and really well written. I hope this isn't your reality at the moment. :-) x
