by Poet on the Piano   Sep 29, 2019

I always dreamed that
in the mountains, I would
discover peace.
Not for the world, not from a deity,
but exclusively for me.
Perhaps it's selfish to wish this.
To hope that earth's crust
would love me through every
twist, turn and hurt.
To witness the forest
crooning as one entity;
serenity, a hymn I never learned.
Now, I fear if I
traveled to a land faraway,
I'd be lost among the mist.
Purposefully hidden.
The wolves would rest
their lungs, stars would
refuse to illuminate,
the wind would promise to
leave me breathless

and just like that,
I'd be untraceable.

Im not sure if you can have peace "exclusively" for yourself and being able to enjoy it without worries... especially if you support a family...
I did enjoy this read though, thx for posting it!

I used to think that way. I mean, about discovering peace in a mountain. And ironically, I stumbled upon a picture in Facebook that says something like... “everyone wants to live a top of the mountain but all the happiness and growth occurs while climbing it”. Sure, this picture wasn’t about peace specifically. It’s more about success and being at the top. Which makes me wonder whether whoever reaches the top is ever able to truly find peace? I’m mixing metaphorical with a literal context but there’s so much to think about. Unfortunately hehe my toddler is climbing the sofa and I can’t concentrate in writing what I wanted to write. See you later.

I strongly believe that you will find peace in the mountains but you have to be careful not to get lost in the wilderness. Add to my favorite. All the very best
