Overkill

by Maple Tree   Oct 9, 2019

A Mother knows-

This worry
that consumes
my soul, strips
nagging thoughts
into a million
pieces of memories.

I see the edge of insanity,
knocking at the door of her
demons, watching them toy
with her like a rag doll on a
dusty shelf,
and all she says is-
"I'm okay"

but I know she's not-
and it's breaking me.
