when you leaned on me

by Mortal Utopia   Oct 17, 2019

when you leaned on me
like the wind on the world,
a little invisibly,
it seemed we dwelled
in an existence too far from one another.
and so, i guess, we never understood each other.
sometimes we'd look eye to eye
apologetically, then sigh,
and look away. we'd open our mouths,
then close them as the sun flickered out.
