Dear Misery

by Glenn G   Oct 18, 2019

My Dearest Misery,
We have been together a long time
So long that I can't remembered the last time I looked forward to coming home
Time is an ugly and selfish thing
I went to bed one night, told my mom and dad goodnight
Woke up the next day to a voice of anger, sadness and hate
I first thought I was caught in a nightmare and one day I would awake
Until the mirror of gray hair looked back and I had teeth that were gone
Accepting your invitation to that movie some thirty-years ago
Was just wrong, wrong, wrong

A clever poem, Glenn. Love the end, as sad as it is.

    All the very best
