The Bird On The Branch

by Everlasting   Oct 29, 2019

In front of a window, an orange cat
and a white mouse dreamily sit
while trying to go outside
Both have brought pumpkins to make pie
and persuade me to let them out
But leaves once green turned orange and died
Now they have fallen in search for a burial ground
And this, this cat is as orange as I am
Perchance, if I let them both come outside
The cat and I will fall and he will die
But no not I for I have wings and I can fly
But he, he will be like leaves once green
who were attached to their own branch
unprepared for Autumn’s Fallen song
calling him to never again open his eyes

Luce this is beautiful! The orange cat dying like the leaves, I did not expect that and I love it :)
