Sorry

by Hope   Nov 3, 2019

Sorry;
for you and for me,
and it's all said in a bittersweet symphony,
I'm speechless,
but I'd say a prayer for Jesus;
screaming Hallelujah in my dreams,
all I've known is all I've ever seen,
within my reach are the words you preach,
so, speak to me by every blind side,
it comes as no surprise,
cause by what I seek;
words of wisdom come with the blind,
you can't let go by what you foreshadow,
the pain flows in vain,
your hope goes up in smoke,
as grace comes with broken bones,
sorry,
it's all a sad story filled with your name and all the glory,
catastrophic faith and broken bones,
someone send me home,
it's all in my bittersweet symphony;
in my bittersweet dreams,
it's all said with a blindfold,
with a hand to reach and to hold,
so, let go in vain,
and you'd see the fall in every season change.

    I appreciate the feeling of this poem, something you lost, potentiall religion or some other meaning make system in your life. The imagery you used was evocative. It definitely asked for multiple reads. I am a bit tripped up I think by the puncuation - it makes me not quiet follow where the breaks are, and what sentence relates to the other. That could be completely intentional, it just made the reading a bit confusing to me.
