Night Call

by Kate   Dec 14, 2019

A thin band of light wraps around my wrist from the space between your blinds
As we lay in a breathless moment in your bed
It is the only light I see when I’m around you
For you only call upon me under the veil of night
You whisper sweet compliments in my ear
And I can’t help that my lips quirk up in a smile
And how I draw my body in to be surrounded by your warmth
Minutes pass as we gain control, wrapped in a state of bliss
Holding the one I love inside my arms but I just don’t have the nerve to tell you
I’ve made you happy, given you pleasure, made you carefree
But dread still lingers in the back of my mind
I will it away
I cling to that hope for just one minute more

It’s not long until your suggestion fills the quiet air of the room
And I pick my scattered clothes up off the floor
And disappear into the night until you call upon me once more

It's so good! I really liked it! It's like a delicate love but at the same time you can't completely act on it.

A sensual but poignant piece that beautifully portrays the bitter sweetness of this one sided affair. Milly x

I loved this. It's so sensual... yet, I could feel a sense of heartache. Beautifully written.
