Loving You

by ddavidd   Dec 17, 2019

I cannot live without you,
without you by my side, in my heart.

I have endured your absence
like a raindrop that sustains the impossible distance,
in the volume of oceans
inside the thistles thirst of a desert
I have inured to your absence like an innocent man
who has been accused of a heinous crime
of living,
of having a righteous dream.

Like a fish of pleading
spewed
against the bluffs of meaningless eyes,
like a moment mummified in the crystal of an ice cube,
like a butterfly
bottled inside the fossil of its wings,
like a ballerina of a frost inside a music box of a cub,
like a fawn of whiteness
hatched in the crystal chandelier icebergs,
like a rain dear,
inside the broken glass menagerie
of hyenas’ fangs,
like a volcano that erupts in its desolation
,
like a woman who breast feeds
her infant of glory,
like a morning due
on the barbwire
of her glooming story.
