A Cheetah after a Turtle

by Everlasting   Dec 18, 2019

I never imagine that some kind of physical pain
could make me feel like an old turtle
attempting to get to a “finishing line”
that seems to have no end...

I always felt some kind of emotional pain
yet the days went by like ice cream
on a hot summer day
Specially since time has been
like a cheetah chasing after me every second
never catching me off guard
always making me run
and run non-stop
to the point that I felt confident enough
that no limb would be ripped apart from my body

But lately the days feel heavy
every second is a step yet to be given
and I,

I feel like soon, I’ll be devoured.

Very unique, verry you. I believe you have found YOU in your poetry. It makes me a little proud for personal reasons and also for the reason that we share the same site together.

Great imagery EL. Especially how you use ways of describing how you feel. Nicely penned, M :)
