I MISSED YOU AND YOUR POETRY SO MUCH!

I want to scream right now, seriously. I know I didn't always comment, but I always read your words. I'm just really happy you posted :)

I could not get enough of this poem - there was hope, a yearning, a desire that leaves you wanting and aching for more. And looking forward to each step ahead. The glamor, the chaos, the ordinary, all moments that give us life and meaning. The contradictions that we are as humans, and how someone else can love and appreciate that in us too.

    THIS. WAS. STUNNING.

      Hey Mary-Anne,

Thank you so much for your kind words. How I've missed this place and I'm so glad that there are still familiar faces around! Feels like yesterday that I joined PnQ and now it's been 10 years already.

I've been having writers block for a while but I hope this poem sets the inspirational flow in motion. It means a lot that you were able to feel this poem.

This is excellent. To find the extraordinary in the ordinary and to be able to find excitement and fulfilment in everything is a blessing indeed.

like one of those scratch cards
you used to get excited about as a kid.
Let me astonish you, as you scrape your silver
    across my skin.

    ^^

This truly is a superb metaphor and wonderful creative writing.

    All the best.

I love your stile of writing, Quiet refreshing to be honest...
At first I thought that this poem will resonate a very feminist undertone, something a woman would stand up for.. Im sorry if Im not making much sense..
Maybe its just me.. Eiterway, I enjoyed this read very much.
    Thx for sharing

    Judging Comment:

Because of the poem content, it felt very familiar,.
The scratch card part is brilliant, and I’ll be honest it’s what hooked me to the poem. From that point, I started living each part of the poem, more like reliving parts of my life.
The repetition of let me be, let it be, the word let in general gave a realistic touching vibe to the poem.
The poem has the voice of someone, who had a good taste of life, and by time has realized that the simple things in life are the most meaningful. I love this poem beyond words.
I’ll throw in one of my favorite quotes that I was reminded of after reading this.
“Like all magnificent things, it’s very simple.”
