It's so accurate and so jarring how anxiety can take on voices, and you aptly described them as monsters joining in. It can be incredibly hard to find peace and truly relax when every thought in our mind is reflecting on our decisions, if we did this or that right, what we could have done better, etc. Then there are the thoughts that try and convince us we won't be liked, or that certain interactions weren't real or sincere, just us interpreting them as such. They nag at us and we just want sweet silence.
