I've built so high to where I am, |
This poem raises the question. "Should I stay in my perceived precarious position at the top or do I climb back down to my comfort zone" For me, it reads as if it's been a tough climb to get to where the writer is now in their life and that something has happened to make them feel that they are in a precarious position. They look back down at what has gone before and it makes them feel that they don't really belong at the top and that it's just a matter of time before all that they have built collapses. So the question is asked is it better to carry on perpetuating all of the hard work that has gone on before and risk ultimate failure or to give up on all their hard work and climb back down to their comfort zone wondering what would have happened if they had stayed. This raises a more important question that should be asked. For if a person works long and hard to achieve something this is definitely something that is important to them. So is the threat based in fact or is it an internal fear? |
