Sonnet 14

Sonnet 14

I had a feeling while I was asleep,
I felt it, a benediction in my dream!
It went across my spine to my heart deep
As if my soul had caught a heavenly beam.
As warmth in mid winter it came to me,
As prayer to a dreary and sick soul,
As rain to a parched land, as a shady tree
To a sun-bruised walker who lost control.
I sensed, I knew, I heard, I felt your pace
Nearing and entering softly my room
I opened then my eyes to your smiley face
And woke up to your ever yielding bloom.
Those days, my awakening was better with you.
Now l love to sleep, to dream and see you through.
