The irony of society

The irony of society

A law was penned and framed and set
By those who have and can,
To douse any potential threat
Against their wealth's span.

A glowing gold must be for sure
Guarded by those who own,
Their pockets empty, their hearts pure,
Their bodies moan and groan.

An authority, with firm shield
Keeps the gold in its might,
Comforts the wealthy and their yield,
Chains the poor's mind and right.
