Just a mortar bomb this time

by nouriguess   Mar 21, 2020

"Wait for me
outside the school,
near the supermarket around
the corner.
I'll pick you up in fifteen.
Alright, little one?"

Said her smiling father
enthusiastically,
then hung up the phone,
not knowing he just uttered
the exact place and time of
his little one's death.

A punch to the heart. The reality and bluntness of the title, that it was "just" a mortar bomb this time. Tragedy and loss and grief a never-ending cycle.

    Heartbreaking beyond belief.
