There's such tangible pain in this but a selflessness in your declaration of love and loyalty to someone so close to your heart. I don't see it as selfish at all, though I could see how others may think, why want the whole world to burn simply for this person. But I get it. And I think it's the strongest and most giving kind of love to want this person's safety, protection, to put their well-being first. And aren't we allowed to be selfish anyway when it's those who mean the most to us in the world? We're allowed to have that person in our lives that we want to keep their hope alive, so we worry for them and hope they are not weighed down by the world.
