napowrimo: weightlessness. (day two)

by prasanna   Apr 2, 2020

sometimes i surmise the human body is
weightless, made of helium and we
were meant to float aimlessly amongst
the stars but our memories tether us
back to earth. think about it –
near-death experiences always
speak of flashing lights before
waking back on earth.

when we cast the heaviest memories
into the ocean, we find it easier to
collect breath into our lungs –

but like Sisyphus some of us are
meant to try to shed our memories
only to infinitely fail.

Day 2! Whoot progress! Not that I didn't think you could do it.

I like the idea of the body being made of helium. I wonder if you're right in more ways than we realize currently. Thank you for penning and stunning image you paired it with.

I think this is going to be an exciting month for me, Neruda. And reading it from the visual's page. W.O.W
