napowrimo: wrong ideas. (day three)

by prasanna   Apr 3, 2020

drawn together by wrong ideas;
our souls salivate at all the wrong
words that we utter – sometimes,
the universe is successful in nudging
us apart, and other times we’re
catastrophic together.

in me: you find respite, a dreamer,
a haphazardly wrapped morsel of
fleeting stability, a salar de uyuni.
a bouquet garni of all the verses
you didn’t need to hear now, but
later at a time, where’d you be
really receptive to it, a warm body.

in you: i find an illusionist, blurry
metaphors of love, a soothing
voice, beautiful words wrapped
in rose-thorns, a distorted view
of stability, a reservoir of warm
light, nurturing verses stitched
together, a warm body.

temporarily aligned;
we found all the wrong
reasons to delay the inevitable,
wounding ourselves in the
process.
