pas de deux

by Kate   Apr 6, 2020

We’re no stranger to each other
But we stalk the walls of this party
Like we’ve never touched in the dark
I’m a helpless moth to the flame
That glitters in your gray eyes

We exchange sideways glances
Crooked grins playing at our lips
As we watch the world around us
Until your gravity pulls me in
And I’m trapped under your cool stare
Your hand filling the dip in my waist

We dance, we drink, we dance again
Until the world becomes a blur of color
And the floor beneath us turns to your sheets
Your heartbeat, a rhythm against my skin
Our moans, the lyrics of the night

In the heat of the moment it’s just us two
Our secret little pas de deux

I love the way you paint pictures with your writing - it's so completely captivating. Very much enjoyed this piece.

I liked how you went from subtle sensual tendencies to letting the reader know just what exactly this night led to.

    Lovely work, Kate.
