napowrimo: the sweetest poem(day 9)

by prasanna   Apr 10, 2020

your name is scarred tissue
on my tongue; your incendiary
touch knows no bounds,
i held your name on the tip
of my tongue for a moment
too long (birds are destined
for flight). tonight, i wonder
where your poetry forms from,
i want to swim your veins to
your heart, where everything
is still primordial. unadulterated
emotions, untethered verses
floating in a nebula of the
unspoken; the clay things your
heart stirs at but your hands
never shaped into words.

i want to know why
syllables are just that,
but the three syllables
of your name is the
sweetest poem.

i want to know where
the poetry of your name
ends and the poetry of
you begins.

This stuck with me. The last few lines were fantastic and balanced out the introduction beautifully.
