A Blind Corner

by Walter   Apr 21, 2020

It was many years ago
I remember it all so well
And neither of us had a clue
What time was sure to tell

Standing here on the spot
Where both our hearts would meet
As we were blindly following
The paths of our own feet

The building on the corner
Still stands so proudly tall
Knowing that it played a part
In what was to be our call

Back then just two strangers
And neither of us knew
The fate of things to become
When we would run into

Apologetic moments
Would stop in our tracks
As destiny takes over
There's no more looking back

Our two separate paths
Which caused us to collide
Now branching off into one
As we both share this ride

All memories that we've made
From when this had begun
How easy it would have been
For this to be undone

If somehow we avoided
On that day to bump
We both would've just passed by
Within our throats a lump

Lives that would be missed
If these chances we deny
The love of my life might have been
Just a stranger walking by
