A brighter future (Rondeau)

by Michael   Apr 21, 2020

..at tunnels end, will there be light,
to save us from, this time of plight.
Our sense of touch has lost its grip
and kisses stripped from lip to lip.
Our lives dwell in, the hands of blight

The ink of black, drip lies on white,
and ears are drowned in seas of hype.
Let's hope we save, this sinking ship
. . . at tunnels end

With love and truth, we shall alight
to greater shores, and so unite.
But should the anchor fall and slip
again our faith will crack and chip.
We can but hope the future’s bright
. . . at tunnels end

Michael, you always have great perspective and insight, tying in current situations into the important of the greater message: unity, faith in each other. I especially liked the depth here of "ears are drowned in seas of hype". It is far too easy to become divided, to become scattered in our plans for a future, how we will improve or adapt, and instead drown in the chaos and uncertainty.

Powerful write! And it's been awhile since I've read a Rondeau, so kudos to you :)

Some will unite, but others wont. There are still people who believe that the actions taken aren’t the right ones. It wont be easy to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but hopefully we will anyways :)
