It's wonderful to see a new piece from you, thank you for sharing this with us! Love the theme of impressionism, the metaphors... being left behind to pick yourself up, while your love travels and visits and indulges, and there is still regret. It's hard to move on when your focus was on them, and perhaps wanted more reassurance. I felt like this is something we can all fall prey to, self-sabotaging, our insecurities growing and questioning our self-worth. Hopefully it is a lesson in realizing our own worth and loving ourselves primarily, being our own muse first so that we may invite that love of others later.
