My Monopoly On Stupidity

by Vince Gullaci   Apr 26, 2020

I'm like a dog
with a bone
even when a car
bears down on me
I can't
for the life of me
leave it alone.

Your brevity delivers such depth and honestly, this simile is something I think many of us can relate to. Whether one calls it stupidity, stubbornness, our pride... there are things we feel we HAVE to hold on to. Perhaps we fear losing the control, the grasp, the advantage it gives us. There's wisdom in letting go. And sometimes, in losing something, we gain something else.
