Not one bit

by nouriguess   May 5, 2020

The anguished woman
pushed and

breathed,
pushed, and

breathed, for two hours.
Her husband held
her hand, kissed
her forehead, pushed and

breathed,
pushed and

breathed with her,
for two hours.

For two hours,
he cried,
she cried,
but the baby didn't

after all.

A well deserved front page poem. I was gutted from how this poem ended. My heart went out to this couple.
