I’m wide awake
Because it’s over
And the whiplash is
So painful
I can barely breathe like this!
Pins and needles prickle
My appendages
And I’m here
Existing
Laying in the pool
Of the answers I wanted
And watching the
Alphabet soup
Of my relationship
Trickle through my fingers
As I read the words
She’s written
I’ve gotten what I wanted
And I expected it to hurt more
But the initial blow was so
Detrimental
This was merely shrapnel
Making its way out
From an old wound
I’m wide awake
And I’m terrified
I could find someone else
Just to have them
Leave as well
