For some reason this feels like a young daughter awaiting her father return from work or maybe from war. Your poetry lately is very emotional and you keep delivering them. I think I said this before, your category choice is very interesting!!

Chills, this poem held so much emotion and gentleness!

The use of everything being lowercase, the vulnerability, even if we are no longer children, still holding that child-like innocence and looking up to someone who promised to protect and be there for us. Hoping to grow up, following in their footsteps, and if they are no longer with us, honor their memory and keep their spirit alive.

Some fantastic lines here: "i am illiterate, lost in your philosophy" & "my steps slip in your vast world."

I, too, immediately felt a connection to this, as a daughter, and even as an adult, navigating this big world that always seems to be full of unknowns. Trying to find where we fit into it, and holding on to those moments of feeling "held" and shielded from anything that could hurt us. Those two questions at the end lingered, the sadness and pain of not knowing when they will return, of having to face the storm and anything thrown our way by ourselves... though we are never truly alone.

    Lovely write <3
