a soul in transit

by prasanna   May 24, 2020

a humble vagabond; shadowing your existence
in search of a conclusion to a story that was
never meant to be written. closure is forlorn;
a siren song that beckons one to the most
unexpected places. thirst & hunger are
dulled senses that no longer plague this
body. you crawl out of my throat from
deep within; sometimes i wonder who
haunts who. life is unassuming, calloused –
never conducive to emotions, in the manner
you want. the sadness is whole, a flower in
first bloom; the tongue is perfumed in
flowery language most nights, and the
nights are far too lonely, even for a
willing ghost. the lament laminates the
soul with a deep sorrow, it is all i've
come to know. would the links ever
come undone? cliffhanger endings
are paralytic to the soul and yet
