The Acciedent

by Katelyn   Jul 13, 2004

This was an accident
it wasn't supposed to happen,
we were having so much fun
there was no idea this is how it's going to end.

She was my best friend
the world in my eyes,
now I stand here in black
hearing her mother's cries

Why does the world have to end
why do people suffer to pain,
now I'm sitting in this cold chair
with this bright light trying to explain.

It was our last day of high school
we were partying all night,
met some guys and got high
nothing can explain how it felt alright.

Then this guy took me aside
grabbed me the wrong way,
I slammed him to the ground
and ran to find my friend far away.

This guy was on top of her
trying to get inside to the deep,
I smashed a bottle on his head
pulled her up and left the shadows to creep.

We both struggle to my home
crept in through the kitchen window,
my brother still up online looks at the clock
three a.m. no surprise I can't feel that low.

I lay her down on my bed
brushed her teeth and put cream under her eyes,
I went into the bathroom and cleaned up
then looked back the night and thought up new lies.

Fell asleep to wake up a few hours later
it was unusually cold I didn't understand,
I looked over at my friend pale as white
my eyes got wide and with this I had no plan.

I just shut my eyes and laid my head down to sleep
thinking distant thoughts I shed a tear,
I think it's just a dream I believe it's not real
I know when I wake up the yells are what I will only hear.
