fridge

by tobias kinti   Jun 2, 2020

they called
and asked
if i wanted
to see you
one last
time

i said no
and hung up

you wouldnt
look the same

and besides

it wouldnt be
you anymore

not really

you left
the moment
they sedated
you

your eyes
were closed

you moaned

but you were
gone already

we were
there for you
though

i hope you
know that

we were there
as you crossed over
as you were received

its already done

i dont need
to see how
much the
blood in your
mouth has
blackened
from 2 weeks
of being in
that fridge

you were
always
strong

brave

no one needs
to see you
looking like
a cold old man

no

i love you

but no
