The Music is Near

by ddavidd   Jun 8, 2020

O dear there is music in my ears
I swear
like some lights inside, projecting to flare
pouring all the radiuses of life's lucent
chandelier.

So peaceful and fair
that tinkles and tolls
the most distant belfry of
my castles
on the mirage of thin air,

that twinkles
the most colourful carol of my soul,
so euphonious that
when it consigns its sound
every note
flounders to cohere,
all the injured souls and instruments
start to chant and cheer

so dulcet that when it hums
the breath of its words to my ears
the pairs of death and life
stand to dance with joyful tears,
far
becomes near
and distances disappear
like there has never been a breach
between there
and here.

O, dear, The music is so here!

This is excellent. The rhyming and the imagery are really quite sublime.

It's like when a song gets stuck to your mind and you can't get rid of it. This poem has a tender, flowing feeling to it...nice read :)
