Wandering Mind

An idle mind is easily soothed
An active mind easily construed
Simplicity provides comfort for the amused
Complexity is often misused

Too much time spent within your head
Only reinforces what’s always been fed
Vacation at a foreign generality
Will this really provide lucidity?

Although the trip leaves you proud
Current inhabitants wish it never allowed
See not much is accepted here
Not when novelty provides so much fear

Fear to think true to oneself
Fear of not being like everyone else
Scorned by what’s engrained below
Scorned by what you do not follow

What’s the value original thought?
Whatever the case, many prefer you forgot?
