Color-Blindness:

by Scott Cole   Jun 12, 2020

What if we all were completely color-blind
Our retinas all saw the same,
Then no color would outshine another
And racism would be tamed.

All visual perception
Would not hold a hue,
No classification of light
To stimulate me or you.

No reflected wavelengths
To give off an emission,
No more labeling or dividing
To misconstrue our weary vision.

No more tones of value
To interpret or evaluate,
No more stereotyping
Nor excuse to ever hate.

For we all would be colorless
And not judged by our skin,
Only then would we all be valued
By the worth we have within.
