ripples across the ocean.

by prasanna   Jun 18, 2020

trembling hands.

i breathe in deeply
and slowly; the lungs
fill with air that is
very much salted
with you.

the heart steadies,
synchronized to
gently crashing waves.

and I,
move to cup
cold water in
palms that have
forgotten
sincerity.

i wonder if i can
fold parts of me
into the ocean

and hope currents
carry it across,
enough times
till i'm delivered
in whole to you.

until then,
i'll ripple the
ocean with
warm thoughts

praying that when
you cup the ocean
in your hands,

you’d cup my heart.

Simply gorgeous. I love the way the sea permeates each part and especially love the line 'the lungs
fill with air that is very much salted with you.' Very clever.
