sigh

When I saw you, the night had
slipped into your soul and waves
of silence carried you to shores
of uncertainties and what ifs.

Your shadow sat next to you,
reading you books in languages
you couldn’t understand.

Yet your throbbing heart stole
away your breath, as you wrapped
your arms around your knees.

I love the images so much. The line "the night had slipped into your soul" - I absolutely love it. And the title, small and heavy really sums it up. Enjoyed reading it!

That second stanza really is quite superb, Star; highly imaginative. The lines are really tight, too, each one between 6 and 8 syllables which gives the poem a structured aesthetic.

All the best as ever and well done on this.
