I've spent half a lifetime
attempting to rid
myself of you-

or at least half of
my lifetime.

Yet I still desperately cling
to a shadow of who
you used to be-

or at least a shadow
of myself.

    This is very touching and personally I relate to the poem! I love how raw and simple you set out these feelings although they might be the hardest to deal with! The last verse really touched me! saying a shadow of yourself! A very sensual piece! Glad Mark nominated it!
