Chapter 1: Fairy tales Are Not Real

She can still remember the laughter
The smile she had when she was a child
The times where she was once happy
Her vivid dreams use to run so wild.

That was all ripped away from her
After her happiest childhood years.
The abuse she lived left her broken
Her happiness was replaced by fear.

Then came the time when it all stopped
She soon turned and faced her grey past.
She felt free yet held back in soul and mind
All her old memories seemed to still last.

For the happiest fairy tales are not real
Something’s are never easy to erase.
The simplest memories are of essence
When an abyss is all that is left to face.

Chapter 2: Love that Abandoned Her

She can still remember hearing his voice
Late at night when everyone was asleep.
The laughter they once shared together
Was her safety blanket, her own retreat.

He made it seem like life was worth living
Her heart felt like it would burst with love.
She felt like everything was now perfect
And her prayers were answered from above.

But, things didn't last but a couple of years
All good things always come to an end.
Everything, all the promises meant nothing
Now it's up to her, her life she needs to mend.

Chapter 3: New Found Hope and Direction

She has survived and learned from many things
For just being at the tender age of seventeen.
Now she sets out to find her place in this world
Hope leads her in the path left to be unseen.

As she still learns from her past memories
She creates a new direction in her life.
She holds her head up high and smiles
After everything she knows she'll be alright.
