Through the Cracks

by BEJohnson   Jun 23, 2020

Believe me when I tell you that I love you
But, I wonder if it's enough to keep us sane.
Sitting here thinking about all the good things
Yet, they've been washed away with the rain.

It seems as if we are more distant than ever
As I try to figure out what went wrong here.
Pointing our fingers, blaming each other
I just want the space between us to disappear.

I want to savor what we have left together
As these bad memories seem to grow more vile.
Help me save what we let slip through the cracks
Lets make a choice that is ultimately worth while.

For I miss laughing at your words late at night
Feeling those butterflies that entrapped my heart.
I miss hearing your laugh echo through my mind
And your breathing as it soothed me in the dark.

I miss you telling me you loved me every second
Something that I know I have taken for granted.
Lets go back and fix what's now broken.
Before this hate becomes more tainted.

"I want to savior what we have left together"
I think that is supposed to be savor, but other than that, beautiful. Great work!
