Now...

by Gracy Judith   Jul 14, 2020

I still see you
at the bend of yesterday
immersed in past decades

why do you wade the darkling blues,
pat dabbing at scabs,
irrigating things long dead?

I see you
wearing fresh pain
heart bleeding
all over again

if only you could
step into the present
and dance
to the rhythm
of now

Gracy! Goodness me ... never have I ever read a metaphor for 'not moving on' quite like this. I guess we're all guilty at times of dwelling on the past. Absolutely beautiful use of language and imagery. (Applause!) :-) x

Your choice of wording is impecable and brings to life vividly the movements and imagery of water. An emotional whirl pool of emotion and action - great read. Milly x

    Gracy,

    'dipping here, dipping there
    wading through darkling blues
    pat dabbing scabs'

this is almost a tongue twister! It's fabulous. I know I commend your word choice every time, but seriously, it's excellent. Your poetry ebbs and flows with such seamlessness. Beautiful.
