Captured Earth

by cassie hughes   Jul 15, 2020

Gripped fast in tides swell
and unable to break free
the earth turns in space,
Biding her time
until bonds weaken

The sky sings a siren song
daring a great escape
yet lending no aid.
Breaking her heart
but not spirit

In captured stasis trapped,
push and pull eternally
waged by both sides.
Keeping hope alive
She cries an ocean.
