I Never Fret

by William Mae   Jul 16, 2020

I can see the storms are rising,
As my daytime turns to night,
I just open up my heart,
Let my soul shine in its light.

When my friends turn to leave me,
I set lonely in life’s dust,
I just smile inside for I know,
Its not them but me I trust.

Though the ground may shake beneath me,
And the fog of life sets in,
I just hold my head up higher,
For I know my one true friend.

I seldom fret or worry,
No matter how my seas are tossed,
I know what ever’s lost on earth,
On high there was no loss.

The winter winds may chill me,
When woes to me are born,
My ship lags not in sailing,
In side my spirits warm.

Give me peace of mind not riches,
I’m satisfied where my soul rests,
My spirits pure safe and secure,
In death I pass life’s test.
