Clouded Brown

by Lainie Reay   Jul 17, 2020

The clouds are all in focus
The vision is a blur
The context of the picture
The lines that start to stir
The light is in the distance
The world is upside down
The future has been blinkered
To a constant shade of brown

Wanted to say welcome back, since it's been a few months!

I liked how you took this color, and with simple verses, created this bleak reflection that I feel many of us have. Where we don't have certainty of the future, we can't predict it and it seems we are either stuck or just waiting for the moment. This had a very ominous tone and I think it came across well when several lines do represent the bigger picture. The world is indeed upside down, and sometimes I think, it's always been like this, but we have either had more clarity to see the good, or perhaps been more disillusioned to think things wouldn't repeat themselves and we'd pave the way to a greater future.

    Please keep sharing, Lainie! <3
