Kindling

They said we wouldn't last
and they waited;
for us to burn.

{Look at us now.}

157,680,000 seconds
2,628,000 minutes
43,800 hours later
and you're still all
I can think about.

lost in a haze of liberation
and it was under your
authority that I revelled
in freedom.

and they waited for the
fire to burn before it
consumed and dwindled
into nothing.

yet sparks caught upon
sparks and embers flared
as flames danced across
us both.

and the fire only grew.

    I'm absolutely ecstatic you're back!! I can't say that enough lol. I love the mention of hours, minutes, seconds and the commitment and depth you talk about in this love. How others wanted to see or expected it to fade but you've both grown stronger, and you've found freedom in it and your love.

    Can't wait to read more! <3
